Dezan Shira & Associates Launches its Reforesting Asia Eco-Initiative 2022 to Raise Awareness for Environmental Protection in the Region

Dezan Shira & Associates has launched its Reforesting Asia Eco-Initiative 2022, a corporate social responsibility program focused on raising awareness for environmental protection and reforestation around the local communities and countries in Asia, where the firm facilitates foreign investment and economic growth.

As a leading corporate services firm in Asia, Dezan Shira & Associates has assisted thousands of companies to invest in and contribute to the economic development of Asian countries over the past 30 years.  As part of its 30th anniversary, the firm is expanding its involvement in the community by raising attention towards local reforestation and environmental sustainability in these same regions.

The Reforesting Asia Eco-Initiative 2022 centers upon bringing awareness and funding to carbon-cutting reforestation projects which will positively impact the ecology and economies of the countries in Asia where many of the firm’s clients, partners and employees are based. By working together with One Tree Planted and other platforms in South/Southeast Asia, the initiative uniquely focuses on projects in China, India, Indonesia, and Vietnam.

Managing Partner, Alberto Vettoretti, commented “This is our first foray into the environmental side of corporate social responsibility. We’d like to make a direct impact on the environment for our 30th anniversary year, while at the same time benefiting the regions where we assist foreign investors in. Reforesting seems an ideal initiative to ensure that local communities are also able to benefit economically from this environmental drive.”

Besides reducing carbon, the selected projects will have wide-ranging benefits such as protecting biodiversity and endangered species habitats, forest fire restoration, erosion control, reducing the risks of landslides and floods, creating jobs in the local community, and climate stability.

With a goal to donate enough trees to absorb 3,000 tons of carbon dioxide over the next 30 years, we have pledged to donate trees in honor of clients who work with one of our 35 offices globally this year. To maximize the potential impact of this drive, we will also be raising awareness through our business events by planting trees for attendees at our webinars and seminars.

And as an additional step towards reducing our carbon footprint, we have reduced the printing of our publications, and for every person who downloads one of our 2022 Doing Business Guides from our new online business portal we will also donate a tree on their behalf.
