Dezan Shira & Associates Hosts NUS Business Delegation at Hong Kong Science Park Shenzhen Branch

On May 16, 2025, Dezan Shira & Associates had the pleasure of hosting a student delegation from the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School as part of their overseas study program, Bizad Abroad 2025. The visit took place at the Shenzhen branch of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), a valued partner of our firm, and aimed to offer students first-hand insights into China’s business environment, digital transformation, and career development in the consulting industry.

The delegation consisted of 26 students from the NUS Business School, accompanied by Professor Peng Zheng, an Adjunct Instructor from the Department of Analytics and Operations (DAO). The session began with a warm welcome by Radomir Tomovic, International Business Advisory Manager at Dezan Shira & Associates, and Bai Xue, Senior Manager at HKSTP, who presented an overview of HKSTP’s role in driving innovation, supporting startup ecosystems, and contributing to the I&T Ecosystem of the Greater Bay Area. A student representative also shared the purpose of the visit and outlined mutual learning expectations.

Following the introductions, our firm’s professionals led a comprehensive discussion on the evolving nature of business advisory in China. Amber Liu and Jennie Zeng from the Tax and Accounting Advisory team, Richie He from our Business Advisory team, and Mosley Li from the HR & Payroll Advisory team, shared their insights on how foreign-invested companies can navigate the country’s unique regulatory framework. The session emphasized the importance of strategic planning for market entry, and explored how digital tools—such as cloud accounting software like Xero and HR management platforms like asiaadmin—can enhance efficiency, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises with limited internal resources.

The delegation actively participated in the Q&A session, raising thoughtful questions about digital business models, regulatory challenges, and career opportunities in professional services across Asia. The visit concluded with a group photo to commemorate the meaningful exchange. As a token of appreciation, the NUS delegation kindly presented a thank-you gift to our team.

We are proud to support Bizad Abroad 2025 and were truly impressed by the students’ engagement throughout the session. We look forward to strengthening our collaboration with institutions like NUS and continuing to contribute to the development of future global business leaders.
