Patricia Aranguren Moliner, Assistant Manager within the International Business Advisory team at Dezan Shira & Associates’ Europe and Spanish Desks, recently visited Barcelona and Madrid as part of the firm’s ongoing business development and international partnership activities in Spain.
As part of her visit, Patricia attended the ETL GLOBAL España International Desk meeting held in Barcelona on May 7, bringing together members of the group’s Spanish Desk and Italian Desk. The event focused on fostering closer cooperation between internationally active firms and professionals. Participants from legal, tax, accounting, and advisory backgrounds exchanged perspectives on international growth opportunities and cross-border business support.
During her stay in Barcelona, Patricia also held meetings with partners and institutional organizations, including Casa Asia, Spain’s main public diplomacy institution focused on the Asia-Pacific region. The exchanges focused on introducing the activities of the respective organizations and discussing areas of mutual interest related to Asia-Europe business and institutional engagement.
Patricia also attended a business networking lunch organized by MATRADE Paris, alongside Malaysian Investment Development Authority and Tourism Malaysia, which brought together Spanish companies and stakeholders from sectors including technology, sustainability, aerospace, digital infrastructure, consulting, trade, and investment. The session highlighted Malaysia’s positioning as a gateway to ASEAN for Spanish companies exploring opportunities in Southeast Asia.
Overall, the engagements reinforced the importance of Spain and the wider Spanish-speaking market for Dezan Shira & Associates’ Europe and Spanish Desks, particularly as interest in Asian markets continues to grow among Iberian and Latin American companies.
