Ho Chi Minh City, October 31, 2025 | Aligning with significant positive developments in the ASEAN-New Zealand relationship, including the ASEAN-New Zealand Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP) and Vietnam’s vital coordinating role in its successful negotiation, we were honored to be invited to meet a delegation of New Zealand entrepreneurs, organized by the New Zealand ASEAN Business Council (NZABC).

The visiting delegation, comprised of business leaders from various key sectors including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Agriproducts, Real Estate, and more, was keen to explore the burgeoning investment and market opportunities available in Vietnam.

On the invitation of organizing representative and long-standing expert John Cathart, Dezan Shira & Associates’ Country Director Vietnam, Vivie Wei, and Regional Marketing Lead, Julia Goeb, had the pleasure of engaging with the delegates.

The concluding event featured a vital keynote address by Mr. Do Huu Tung, Second Secretary of Vietnam for New Zealand, Fiji, and Samoa, highlighting the strengthening bilateral relationship as well as Vietnam’s outstanding role as link between ASEAN and East-Asia, extending collaboration opportunities to partners in Asia-Pacific and beyond. Furthermore, a casual business matching session was organized, connecting the New Zealand delegates with representatives from local Vietnamese companies, aimed at fostering immediate commercial connections. The platform allowed DSA to share on-the-ground expertise regarding market entry strategies, regulatory compliance, and the current investment landscape.

Vivie Wei commented on the meeting: “The level of interest from the New Zealand delegates across high-growth areas like AI and established strengths truly underscores Vietnam’s appeal as a leading investment destination. We are incredibly grateful to John Cathart and the NZABC for the invitation. The upgraded Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and the strong bilateral support from both governments provide New Zealand businesses with unprecedented certainty and access.”

We are eager to support more New Zealand businesses with their Foreign Direct Investment journey in Vietnam and across Asia. Find out more about how we can support or get in touch with our Australia-New Zealand Desk.
