India–Europe Relations Strengthen as TEPA Takes Effect and EU–India FTA Talks Advance
This is a pivotal moment for India–Europe relations. The India–EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA), which came into effect on October 1, 2025, marks a major step toward deeper trade and investment ties, particularly in innovation and sustainable growth. At the same time, India and the European Union are advancing their long-awaited Free Trade Agreement (FTA), with recent negotiations in Brussels achieving notable progress. Both sides are now engaging continuously at a high level to conclude the deal by the end of the year, reflecting a shared commitment to stronger economic cooperation and diversified trade partnerships.
Sustaining the Momentum of India–Europe Cooperation
This visit builds upon the successful European tour undertaken in 2023 by Rohit Kapur, Dezan Shira & Associates’ former India Managing Director. His engagements across Europe coincided with the launch of “An Introduction to Doing Business in India 2023 for EU Businesses” , a publication designed to guide European investors in navigating India’s dynamic market.
Dezan Shira & Associates’ Presence in Europe
Next to ASEAN, India ranks among Europe’s leading trade partners outside the EU. Amid shifting global trade dynamics, Europe is deepening engagement with both regions to strengthen supply chain resilience and diversify investments. Dezan Shira & Associates’ European office in Munich, established in 2021, serves as a gateway for European companies expanding into Asia, offering multilingual expertise and strategic guidance throughout their internationalization journey.
