On September 22, 2025, the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Guangzhou, in collaboration with Bank Indonesia and HSBC Indonesia, hosted the Indonesia – Southern China Business Forum 2025 under the theme “Doing Business in Indonesia: Building Strategic Partnerships towards Prosperity.”
The event gathered senior representatives from the Indonesian government, financial institutions, and leading industrial parks to present the country’s economic outlook, updated investment policies, and the benefits of leveraging Indonesia’s industrial parks and Local Currency Settlement mechanism.
Alberto Vettoretti, Managing Partner of Dezan Shira & Associates, has been invited to moderate a high-level panel featuring representatives from Batang Special Economic Zone, Kendal Industrial Park, I-Sentra Lamongan, Wiraraja Indonesia, and HSBC Indonesia. Discussions centered on the advantages of industrial parks, the importance of location in foreign investment strategies, the rise of smart eco-industrial zones, and financial sector insights into Indonesia’s growth industries.
In his role as moderator, Alberto highlighted Indonesia’s growing role in ASEAN and encouraged participants to actively explore the market, noting that “百闻不如一见 — One look is worth a hundred reports.” He further stressed that beyond cost considerations, today’s investors value sustainability, connectivity, and long-term partnerships, making Indonesia’s industrial parks an increasingly compelling option.
Dezan Shira & Associates has enjoyed a longstanding relationship with the Indonesian Government and the Consulate in Guangzhou in particular, supporting its initiatives over the years to promote bilateral business exchanges. This year’s forum carried added significance, coinciding with the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia’s independence, further underscoring the strength of Indonesia–China economic relations.
