On September 7, 2025, the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) officially launched its Singapore Representative Office, with the support of Dezan Shira & Associates.
Representing the firm, David Stepat, Country Director Singapore, and Dawn Liew, Business Advisory Manager, attended the launch ceremony alongside senior government officials, industry leaders, and international stakeholders.
The event underscored AHRI’s commitment to advancing standards, certification, and regulatory compliance across Southeast Asia. In his remarks, Mr. Cheong Tak Leong of Enterprise Singapore highlighted the nation’s robust standards and conformance infrastructure, reinforcing Singapore’s role as a trusted hub for international collaboration. Additional presentations included Singapore’s Green Building Council’s Go 25 initiative, which promotes sustainable indoor comfort practices, and a detailed overview of AHRI’s global service activities, from standards development to certification and policy advocacy.
By establishing its first representative office in Southeast Asia, AHRI aims to provide industry stakeholders with a stronger regional voice, promote harmonization of international standards, and create a level playing field for competition in the HVACR sector.
“We are proud to have supported AHRI in establishing their Singapore Representative Office,” said David Stepat. “Singapore provides the ideal hub for international associations to engage with policymakers, industry leaders, and partners across Southeast Asia. AHRI’s presence here will strengthen collaboration on sustainability, energy efficiency, and industry best practices—all of which are critical as the region addresses rising demand for cooling and heating solutions.”
With its Singapore office, AHRI is now positioned to enhance cooperation with governments and businesses across ASEAN, contributing to the region’s long-term climate, energy efficiency, and sustainable development goals.
