Dezan Shira & Associates Deepens Collaboration with Italy Vietnam Chamber of Commerce

MILAN – Dezan Shira & Associates is pleased to share its partnership with the Italy Vietnam Chamber of Commerce (CCIV).

Founded in 1996 with support from the Center for Vietnamese Studies and the Vietnamese Embassy in Rome, CCIV aids Italian companies in Vietnam and Vietnamese firms in Italy. Endorsed by the Italian Ministry of International Commerce, CCIV actively works with a range of organizations to strengthen economic, trade, and cultural connections between Italy and Vietnam.

Last year, our Senior Associate, Giovanni Lovisetti, represented Dezan Shira & Associates at the inauguration of the Vietnam-Italy Year 2023 in Rome on March 31, 2023. This event commemorated 50 years of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Italy and marked the 10th anniversary of their strategic partnership.

One year later, on February 2, 2024, at the closing ceremony of the Vietnam-Italy Year 2023 in Milan, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy, Duong Hai Hung, honoured Walter Cavrenghi, the General Secretary of the CCIV, with the Vietnamese President’s Friendship Order, recognizing the organization’s active support in strengthening relations between the Vietnamese Embassy and Italian localities and partners, playing a pivotal role in the growth of bilateral relations.

Giovanni remarked: “Vietnam – Italy relations are growing stronger and stronger in recent years also due to the support that institutions from both countries are providing, aimed at facilitating the flow of foreign investment into Vietnam. Following such a positive trend, we at DSA are working to build solid relations with Italian institutions at any level, cooperating with them in providing solutions for Italian companies doing business in Vietnam. The recently established partnership with the CCIV is a further milestone in this cooperation process”.

Vietnam and Italy Economic Cooperation

Over the past decade, Italy and Vietnam have fortified their commercial ties, achieving an average annual growth rate of 15 percent. This growth has led to a doubling of their two-way trade turnover since 2010, reaching US$5.6 billion in 2021.

According to data from Vietnam Customs, the trade volume between the two countries continued to expand in 2022, reaching US$6.2 billion, which represented an 11 percent increase from the previous year. Vietnam’s exports to Italy in 2022 amounted to US$4.4 billion, up 14 percent compared to 2021, while imports from Italy to Vietnam increased to US$1.7 billion, marking a 3.6 percent growth from the previous year.
