On January 29, 2026, Dezan Shira & Associates participated in the “EU SMEs in the Greater Bay Area: Briefing & Business Clinic”, co-organized by the European Chamber South China Chapter and the EU SME Centre, in Shenzhen.

Radomir Tomovic, Manager of International Business Advisory at Dezan Shira & Associates and South China Vice Chair of the European Chamber Human Resource Forum, delivered a briefing on the broader investment environment for EU SMEs in the Greater Bay Area (GBA). His remarks highlighted China’s continued openness to foreign investment, recent policy developments supporting SMEs, and the GBA’s strengths in innovation, manufacturing, and services.

Referring to the Asia Manufacturing Index (AMI) 2026, Radomir noted that China has ranked No. 1 for three consecutive years, reinforcing its role as a regional manufacturing and innovation hub.

A panel discussion, moderated by Liam Jia, Team Leader of the EU SME Centre, further explored practical challenges and opportunities for European businesses. Panelists included representatives from the European Chamber, advisory firms, and manufacturing companies, who shared perspectives on compliance, localization, and long-term market positioning in South China.

The event concluded with closing remarks, reinforcing the importance of informed market entry planning and cross-border collaboration for European SMEs seeking to establish or expand operations in the Greater Bay Area.
