VTV 1 Features Marco Förster’s Analysis of Vietnam’s E-Logistics Capabilities

Marco Förster, Head of ASEAN Advisory at Dezan Shira & Associates, appeared as a guest on Vietnam’s national television channel VTV 1 on Sunday, July 9. During the morning news segment “Chào Buổi Sáng” (Engl: Good Morning), Förster provided his insights into Vietnam’s potential to become a leading e-logistics hub in Southeast Asia.

Förster, who is based at Dezan Shira & Associates Ho Chi Minh City office, brings expertise and experience in various Southeast Asian business environments, including Vietnam. After several years of working in China and extensive operational involvement in ASEAN, he relocated to Vietnam in 2020.  This move not only allowed him to enhance his market focus but to also capitalize on his unique background as a German-Vietnamese. This has given him exceptional insights and a profound understanding of Vietnam’s economy.

Vietnam’s e-commerce market is expected to reach US$15 billion by 2025, representing growth of 42 percent annually. This strong growth has created a high demand for e-commerce logistics, which is projected to continue growing at a rapid pace. While the industry faces challenges, its growth is promising, with the Vietnamese government committed to removing regulatory hurdles.

During the interview, Marco expressed his optimism about Vietnam’s e-logistics future.

“Vietnam is increasingly being recognized as one of the prime locations for e-logistics within Southeast Asia. This recognition stems from our strategic geographical positioning, our skilled workforce, and our commitment to improving our transport infrastructure,” Marco stated. He also highlighted the tremendous growth potential in this sector due to the global shift towards e-commerce.

“The digital business environment in Vietnam is rapidly transforming, creating a wealth of opportunities for potential investors,” he concluded.

At Dezan Shira & Associates, we echo Marco’s sentiments and encourage prospective clients to explore these opportunities. We offer expert advice and support to businesses seeking to navigate and capitalize on Vietnam’s burgeoning e-logistics and e-commerce sectors.
