On 24^th February 2019, Dezan Shira & Associates’ HR and Payroll team hosted a half day seminar discussing China’s new individual income tax (IIT) law reform at our Shanghai office.

Interpreting China’s New IIT Law

Fuki Fu, HR & Payroll Assistant Manager and Susan Ma, Corporate Accounting Services Manager, delivered a presentation discussing the latest reforms in China’s IIT laws. This three-hour seminar targeted recently graduated students that are now working at WFOE’s and FICE’s in the finance and HR verticals.

Given the relatively new reform and developing policy of IIT law in China, the seminar focused on interpreting the significant portions of the law, including:

• Policy of additional specific deductible items
• Calculation method of wage and salary income—accumulated withholding method
• Attention for annual bonus under new IIT law
• Tax compliance management
