China’s is the second largest economy in the world. The country’s large consumer base, low cost labor, and economic reforms are attractive for foreign investors looking to take advantage of this growing market.

For companies working with internet-based products, service promotion and delivery,  setting up the company website or online application systems will be a crucial step when doing business in China.

However, China’s unique IT environment and  vague regulations increase the complexity of compliances - such as obtaining the ICP license & filing.

For example, Chinese law mandates that for hosting any internet-accessible website or system in China, including CDN services, the website owner has to follow the ICP Filing process and PSB Filing, while some of them would also needs ICP License. This may pose a challenge for foreign companies in China.

Dezan Shira & Associates IT team are experienced in the process of ICP Filing and advising our clients on their IT needs.

In the presentation below, we address common concerns that foreign investors face in China, legal requirements related to this and the possible consequences of non-compliance.
