Dezan Shira Expands India Operations

Dezan Shira & Associates is expanding operations in India with a scheduled move to larger premises in New Delhi and a relocation of their offices in Mumbai. “Foreign direct investment into India is rapidly increasing and we need to keep ahead of the curve,” says Chris Devonshire-Ellis, the firm’s principal.

“We need to further invest in India to keep pace with work load for the last quarter of this year, and to enable us to provide a stronger operational base for 2011. We are recruiting accountants and auditors, in addition to relocating some of our existing staff. Delhi and Mumbai are proving to be vibrant centers for us and we need to maximize the firm’s capacity,” he adds.

Aneet Virk, country manager for Dezan Shira & Associates in India also reiterated: “We are growing as a practice with more overseas clients and upgrading our practice in the country. The Delhi and Mumbai offices need to be expanded urgently. Next year there are plans to expand our Bangalore operations as well as a possible new site in Hyderabad.”
