Dezan Shira & Associates is pleased to share that Dan Martin, Co-Head of Business Intelligence based in the firm’s Hanoi office, has been elected to the first-ever National Board of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AmCham Vietnam).

The newly established National Board consists of 27 members representing AmCham’s membership across Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Central Vietnam. Its formation marks a significant milestone in the Chamber’s 32-year history, as AmCham transitions to a unified national governance structure for the first time.

Dan’s appointment reflects DSA’s continued engagement with the international business community in Vietnam and its contribution to policy dialogue, market development, and cross-border investment support.

Since its founding, AmCham Vietnam has operated through two independent chapters in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Earlier this year, members of both chapters approved a new charter to establish a national structure, enabling closer coordination and a more unified voice for businesses operating across the country.

As a not-for-profit, non-governmental, and non-political organization, AmCham Vietnam promotes trade, commerce, and investment between the United States and Vietnam, and serves as a key platform for business advocacy and engagement with policymakers.

“I’m glad to be part of this first National Board at an important stage in AmCham Vietnam’s development,” said Dan Martin. “A more unified structure should help strengthen coordination across the business community, and I look forward to contributing alongside the other board members.”

The establishment of the National Board is expected to enhance nationwide coordination, strengthen advocacy efforts, and support deeper engagement with stakeholders across Vietnam.

Founded in 1994, AmCham Vietnam is one of the largest international business associations in the country, representing hundreds of companies and thousands of professionals involved in U.S.-Vietnam trade and investment.
