Managing Mass Layoff Under PRC Labor Contract Law
Our labor law expert, Allan Xu, reviewed reasons for mass layoffs, schemes, and solutions.
Allan started the seminar with common reasons for mass layoffs, often regarding radical business adjustment. Using the PRC Labor Contract Law, Allan then explained the legal grounds and severance pay related to different options for mass layoff.
The seminar also covered more practical knowledge including the calculation of severance pay, general compensation schemes and termination procedures. Having a clear sense of the employment termination procedure will help any company avoid illegal acts and potential labor disputes.
Allan closed the seminar by providing useful tips which can help HR managers better handle the potential risks of mass layoff.
