On August 31, 2018 the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, passed an amendment containing changes to the country’s existing Individual Income Tax Law (IIT).  The revised IIT law, which marks a significant milestone to the PRC’s IIT system, was partially implemented this October and will come fully into effect on January 1, 2019. This webinar will be based on the drafted Detailed Implementation Rules (DIRs) that were announced on October 20, 2018 and cover the following topics:

  • An Adjustment in the Income Brackets
  • Specific Additional Deductions
  • A New Concept of Tax Residence & Five Years Rule

The revised IIT law will bring significant challenges to the expatriates in China with global incomes and companies’ HR and financial departments who must cope with the changes. Both individuals and companies should prepare for compliance and keep up to date on the changes to the IIT law.
