Dezan Shira Suzhou Seminar: Resolving Labor Issues When Restructuring in China
March 23, 2016 | Suzhou, China

As China’s economy begins to slow down, particularly in manufacturing sector, labor issues such as mass layoffs and the transfer of key employees are becoming more commonplace as businesses are looking to restructure and relocate. Consequently there has been a marked rise in labor dispute cases involving a high level of legal protection for employees and it is therefore important to proactively prevent risks related to HR.

Dezan Shira & Associates would like to extend a warm invitation to join us at our Suzhou seminar: Resolving Labor Issues When Restructuring in China with the manager of our Business Advisory Service, Allan Xu. Allan is an expert in PRC labor law, dispute settlement and restructuring and has dealt with over 2,000 labor arbitration cases. In a roundtable discussion, we will addressing the following issues:

  • What a foreign owned company needs to be aware of when restructuring
  • How to transfer key employees to your new company
  • Mass layoffs
  • Severance payments
  • Labor dispatch
  • How to terminate employees when the company intends to close down the business in China
  • How to be better prepared for labor arbitration

We will also be open to discuss any specific issues you are having with restructuring.
