A year after re-opening to the world, China’s recovery has not proceeded as smoothly as originally hoped. Headwinds related to both domestic and foreign trade & investment issues continue to hold the economy back.

Even with a rocky 2023, however, the IMF projected the country still grew 5%, with similar predictions for this coming year. Stimulus may be on the horizon and the government is recommitting itself to making the business environment more attractive to foreign companies and remaining open-for-business for American ones.

Join us as Kyle Freeman, Partner and head of North American Client Services in Asia, recaps 2023 and explores the promising trends and opportunities for foreign businesses (including US companies) in China in 2024.

Topics:

  • A recap of 2023's economic situation and noteworthy events that may influence 2024
  • Economic and regulatory trends and predictions for 2024
  • Opportunities for foreign businesses in China in 2024
