E-commerce is playing an increasingly significant role in both domestic and cross-border trade, with China accounting for 42% of the global e-commerce market and e-commerce accounting for 23.8 percent of all retail sales in China in 2017, a number projected to reach 33.6 percent by 2019.

Responding to the increasing relevance of this mode of trade and growing regulatory requirements, the National People's Congress at the end of August 2018 passed its first comprehensive law regulating e-commerce, with the law becoming effective January 1, 2019.

During the seminar, our speaker Mr. Kyle Freeman, International Business Advisory manager with Dezan Shira & Associates, will discuss foreign investment strategies for China's e-commerce market; as well as, the implications of the newly issued E-Commerce Law.
