Doing Business in Hong Kong

Presentation

Download

Hong Kong's economic system is best described as a free market economy with little intervention from the government. This Special Administration Region of China holds the reputation of being the "gateway" to invest in one of the largest consumer markets in the world. The lack of tariff and non-tariff barriers makes Hong Kong an attractive investment destination for companies preparing for an Asia expansion.

While this is true, investors should be aware that the way in which this city functions - even in terms of the banking system, regulatory frameworks for businesses, or labor management - is vastly different from mainland China.

In this presentation, Ines Liu, Assitant Manager, International Business Advisory at Dezan Shira and Associates, discusses the fundamentals of investing in Hong Kong. The presentation covers various aspects of expanding, maintaining and growing your business in Hong Kong and also the various applicable tax and social welfare regulations.
