China's City Clusters -Driving Urbanization

China’s urbanization drive – lead by strong government initiatives and sharp focus on development – is an incredible feat in human history.

The government initiatives include the creation of 19 city clusters to promote economic growth and development in the country.

Three of these are set to become world-class clusters by 2020; the Pearl River Delta, the Yangtze River Delta, and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei will be the most innovative and globally competitive city clusters.

The other 16 clusters will have relatively less economic influence; further classified into eight medium-sized and eight small-sized clusters.
