The Next Manufacturing Base in Vietnam

Ha Noi, Vietnam | August 18, 2016

8:30 – 11:30 (ICT), 18 August 2016 (Thursday)

Vietnam has attracted major FDI projects from all over the world for last two decades to key economic regions in South and North of the country. These projects have helped the economy grow rapidly and standards of living have improved in those regions. However, the development of the economy has created more and more competition in the market as well as the increase in production cost which is a major concern for manufacturers in the present market.

The Government has invested in infrastructure connecting the two major cities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh with neighboring provinces and areas of key economic zones in the central of Vietnam. In order to create opportunities and employment in less developed areas, the government is providing more subsidies in terms of tax incentives coupled with a low labor cost and an abundance of labor to attract FDIs flowing into these areas. With the purpose to create opportunities to expand new business production at low costs in key economic areas, VSIP (Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park) is happy to present along with AMCHAM HANOI a seminar on “The Next Manufacturing Base in Vietnam”.

Dustin Daugherty, Associate in ASEAN Business Intelligence at Dezan Shira & Associates, will deliver a presentation on Competitive cost in comparison in Vietnam and with other countries. Since 2015, Dustin has helped oversee Dezan Shira & Associates’ and Asia Briefing’s growth in ASEAN and Vietnam, specializing in client advisory on investments in the region, business intelligence, and free trade agreement advisory from our Ho Chi Minh City office.
