[Partner Event] Made-in-Vietnam: Trend or hype?

Webinar | Tuesday, November 14, 2023 | 9:30 – 10:30 AM CET / 3:30 – 4:30 PM Vietnam

Vietnam is experiencing a new dawn as a regional business hub. This comes as a direct consequence of China’s declining appeal to foreign investors due to a slowing economy and geopolitical tensions.

Many companies have already relocated supply chain functions away from China. Vietnam is one of the top destinations. But is Vietnam’s manufacturing sector a viable alternative to China’s massive industry complex? What is the strategic motivation, and the on-the-ground implications, of establishing production in Vietnam? And what does the Vietnamese home market have to offer?

Invited by the webinar's organizers, Danish Industry (DI), Radomir Tomovic, Manager of International Business Advisory at Dezan Shira & Associates (Hanoi Office), eagerly looks forward to discussing the features of Vietnam's growing market and the opportunities it offers with distinguished panelists from prominent Danish companies.

During this webinar, participants will obtain an overview of the market through the below points:

  • Vietnam's growth prospects
  • Implications of outsourcing to Vietnam
  • Vietnam's domestic market potential
  • China+1
  • Asia-Pacific geopolitical development

Expert panelists:

  • Klaus Gørrissen is Project Director at the LEGO Group’s new manufacturing plant in Vietnam. The plant will strengthen LEGO’s supply chain capabilities across the Asian region as a supplement to LEGO’s production facilities in China. Klaus has previously also worked in China for several years.
  • Thomas Jakobsen is Managing Director at Indochina Energy Partners, which is located in Ho Chi Minh City. Thomas has many years of experience from investment and consulting projects in Vietnam and other South-East Asian markets, with particular emphasis on renewable energy.
