India’s Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) — comprising Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, and Liechtenstein, officially took effect on October 1, 2025. Marking the culmination of negotiations that began in 2008, the pact establishes a comprehensive framework covering trade in goods and services, investment, intellectual property, and sustainable development. With EFTA nations committing to invest USD 100 billion in India over the next 15 years and create one million jobs, TEPA is set to reshape India-EFTA trade relations and drive long-term economic growth.
