Dezan Shira & Associates (DSA) is a specialist foreign direct investment practice with a pan-Asia presence. The firm has grown into one of Asia's most versatile full-service consultancies with over 28 offices in China, Vietnam, Singapore, and India. DSA primarily provides legal, tax, and operational advisory to international corporate investors.
Asia Briefing (AB) is a subsidiary of DSA that produces publications and provides marketing services. The marketing team is spread across China, Vietnam, ASEAN, and India and consists of a diverse array of professionals from across the world.
AB is currently hiring for a marketing associate to be located at the Guangzhou or Shenzhen offices of Dezan Shira & Associates. The associate will be responsible for increasing the profile of the firm in the Pearl River Delta Region (Guangzhou / Shenzhen / Dongguan / Foshan) and Hong Kong.
The associate will create initiatives that spread awareness of the firm’s services and generate business leads. The primary functional areas include public relations, business event planning, partnership establishment and enhancement. Secondary functional areas include sponsorship developments, publication distribution, online marketing, group marketing campaign and international marketing support.
Job description:
• Lead and organize marketing campaigns and events in the PRD and HK
• Compose marketing collaterals, promotional flyers and brochures in coordination with colleagues
• Promote the firm’s thought leadership in the area of foreign direct investment in China
• Coordinate and maintain partner relationships (chamber of chambers, business organizations, embassies and consulates, etc.) and improve media relations
• Attend local networking events and build up new business connections
• Assist with online marketing support in terms of marketing content creation
• Manage distribution channels of Asia Briefing publications to improve readership and enlarge audience base
• Assist with international desk to coordinate with events, trips, partnerships
• Manage assistants as they assist with major projects, perform routine tasks, and conduct research
Desired candidates have:
• 1+ years’ experience in marketing, media, or public relations
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field
• Strong understanding of content marketing, and an interest in China’s legal, tax and business environment
• Good communication and team management skills
• Strong initiative to lead new marketing campaigns
• Ability to multi-task and work independently under deadline
• Willingness to travel in the region
• High level of written and spoken English
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; knowledge of other software a plus
• Study and/or work experience overseas a strong plus
