On March 30th, Dezan Shira & Associates Shanghai office hosted the first client-only seminar of 2018 on the topic of ‘Relocation in China’. Around 20 clients and partners of Dezan Shira & Associates visited our Shanghai office, met with professional advisors from different departments, listened to three keynote speeches from site selection, legal, HR & Tax perspectives about relocation, and had stimulating discussions on key problems and concerns they met in practice.
The first keynote speech given by Zolzaya Erdenebileg, Dezan Shira & Associates’ Senior Associate of Business Intelligence team, introduced general relocation trends and site selection metrics developed to help FDIs find the most suitable site locations in China.
Next, Allan Xu, the Manager of Business Advisory Service team, shared key pain points companies face in the process of relocation, comparing pros and cons of the most widely-used strategies businesses can take from a legal perspective. After that, Allan also introduced sensitive labor issues companies need to pay special attention to in the relocation process.
Following the two speeches, Dezan Shira & Associates’ Senior Associate of Tax, James Zheng, gave a presentation about tax regulations in relation to relocation. Key steps for tax deregistration and registration in the relocation process and major tax implications were introduced in James’ presentation.
This half-day exclusive client seminar not only provided a great platform for Dezan Shira & Associates’ clients and partners to get comprehensive knowledge on doing business in Asia from different perspectives, but also provided a great chance for Dezan Shira & Associates to meet with partners and clients to better understand their needs, answer questions and discuss more customized business solutions.
