Chris Devonshire-Ellis Speaks to HofProfit on the Chinese Belt & Road Project

Imagination is needed to enable us to utilise this infrastructure to profit and succeed, that’s the issue people have not understood and that’s a great shame.

Founder and Chairman of Dezan Shira & Associates, Chris Devonshire-Ellis, recently spoke on the HofProfit podcast to examine China’s Belt & Road Initiative (BRI) and opportunities for foreign investors to turn a profit.

During the podcast, Devonshire-Ellis shines a light on improving import prospects for China, the development of infrastructure, and trade flows between China and the rest of the world.

Devonshire-Ellis also comments on Western scepticism surrounding the project, in addition to criticism received from foreign businesses unsure on the profitability of developing partnerships relating to the BRI. However, he encourages investors to adopt a more sustainable, long-term outlook, in terms of new industries that can benefit from improved infrastructure over the coming years:

“Imagination is needed to enable us to utilise this infrastructure to profit and succeed, that’s the issue people have not understood and that’s a great shame.”
