Position Summary

The Director of Technical Sales is responsible for leading a team to identify and onboard clients across multiple geographies and service lines, leveraging the legal, tax, accounting, audit, HR and IT expertise of Dezan Shira’s 19 offices across Asia. A group of project managers dispersed across our offices, as well as agents based in the US and Europe would report to and support the role. This position will initially be based in Asia (Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai) with the expectation of future relocation to the US. The role will initially involve assignments in several different offices to develop familiarity, as well as make initial contact with, prospective clientele.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Working with other Dezan Shira professionals across offices to identify, establish contact, and convert prospective clients;
  • Building and maintaining relationships with larger clients to facilitate up-selling and enable early identification areas for additional client services;
  • Organizing seminars and other events to promote services on a global scale;
  • Working with marketing and editorial teams to ensure content generated reflects the needs of Dezan Shira's current and potential clients;
  • Utilizing CRM infrastructure to follow-up efficiently with leads, and participate in future CRM development and improvement;
  • Analysing and developing strategies for medium-term marketing and business development, in collaboration with finance, IT and HR managers.
  • Willing to consider relocating to the US for business development 1 - 2 years after commencement of role

Skills and Qualifications

  • Thorough understanding of the professional services industry across emerging Asian countries, with particular emphasis on pre- and post-entry advisory requirements for North American and European multinationals;
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, able to work in a multicultural environment;
  • Advanced level of IT literacy, with proven ability to communicate with C-suite management on a technical level;
  • Dependable; strong problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • Broad experience with matters relating to law, tax, accounting, and HR across several emerging Asian economies;
  • Open to high percentage of travel (to US and Europe).

Experience

  • 12+ years of experience in a business development role at a major foreign invested company in Asia or an established professional services company
  • 5+ years of experience interacting with C-suite executives at multinational companies
  • IT background and/or related professional qualifications a plus
