Despite beginning 2020 with a Phase One trade deal, this year is proving to be an especially rocky one for US-China bilateral relations.

The Covid-19 pandemic is intensifying an already worsening economic situation. Businesses and analysts in both countries are questioning whether the terms in the Phase One trade deal are achievable, and if they should even be honored during this global crisis.
