AustCham: Are you getting a pay rise this year? The 2015 Salary Guide

Beijing, China | May 7, 2015

Join AustCham to gain a greater insight into the HR trends, expectations and challenges of employers and companies across Asia in the past 12 months, and what this means looking ahead.

The Hays Asia Salary Guide 2015 identifies the tight talent market and changing economic environment as key factors affecting employers’ hiring expectations and subsequent recruitment approaches. Whilst employers acknowledge an ongoing skills shortage and a competitive environment in attracting talented employees, Hays reveals a trend towards more flexible contract offerings, attractive employee benefits and performance-based bonuses instead of salary increases. Despite this, China still remains the leader for salary increases compared to its Asian neighbours.

50 per cent of employers in China increased salaries in their last review by between six and 10 per cent, and a further 16 per cent increased above that level. Looking ahead, again 50 per cent of employers will increase salaries by 6 to 10 per cent, and 20 per cent will offer increases above 10 per cent. Bonuses based on performance are used to reward top talent.

AustCham welcomes you to a panel discussion with HR experts: Micheal Wong, People Leader for Greater China at Ernest and Young, and David Nui, the Manager of Corporate Accounting Services at Dezan Shira & Associates. This is a relevant and essential event to help employers and companies make informed decisions.
