Mikail Özkaya's Testimonial

From: Germany
Department: Marketing
Office: Beijing
Length of internship: October 2014 – March 2015
  • Q:  How has our company helped you to bridge your academic learning to the professional work environment?

A:  Before my internship at DSA I was studying International management in Germany, which actually prepared me very well, even though it is really theoretical. Being a part of a marketing team helped me to see everything in a more professional way. I developed my interpersonal skills, communications skills and also gained knowledge in consulting and Chinese (Asian) Business. Also it was a great opportunity to work in a multinational environment with team members from different backgrounds.

  • Q: Did you receive enough training to learn effectively?

A: Definitely. I learned so many by doing my projects, talking to my colleagues or managers and reading our publications.

  • Q: Did you receive adequate support to do your job?

A: I did, because my supervisors were open for questions and helped when I faced problems. Especially my colleagues supported me with my projects.

  • Q: Do you feel this internship will help you in your studies or career ahead?

A:  For sure this internship improved my knowledge and my character. Especially the valuable technical knowledge such as taxation, incorporations, HR and accounting will help me in my future career. In marketing view, I was able to see B2B marketing, marketing strategy and the importance of multimedia. And I was able to compare China with Germany or Turkey, which was for me great to see how these different markets are.

  • Q: Would you recommend working for this company to your friends and classmates?

A:  I would, for those who are interested in Asia it is definitely a great opportunity to gain knowledge and experience in the world’s fastest growing market. DSA creates a great opportunity to learn.

  • Q: What aspect of your job do you most enjoyed?

A:  Working in a team and also getting responsibility was one of the main aspects I enjoyed most. We all supported each other and I felt like a real part of the company than an intern.

  • Q: What aspects of your job do you least enjoyed?

A:  There have been only one boring task for me, anything else was great. However the view out of our office could be better but it’s more because of the pollution.
