Jean-Paul Diaz-Caneja's Testimonial

From: France / Spain
Department: Marketing
Office: New Delhi and Shanghai
Length of internship: September 2012 – June 2013
  • Q: How has our company helped you to bridge your academic learning to the professional work environment?

A: Before starting my internship with DSA, I was studying Business Management in the UK. The program was very theoretical and did not give us the opportunity to apply our knowledge to real life work situations. I had done previous internships in other companies in which I was only an observer of how business was conducted by employees, while I was given uninteresting tasks (coffee, photocopies, etc.). However, with DSA, I was quickly integrated to the team and could bring my ideas and skills. For the first time, I could effectively put the theory learned in class into practice.

  • Q: Did you receive enough training to learn effectively? Did you receive adequate support to do your job?

A: Yes. My manager always took the time to teach me and the other interns everything we needed to know to fulfill our tasks effectively.

  • Q: Do you feel this internship will help you in your studies or career ahead?

A: Absolutely, My experience at DSA will not only help me as a comparison between theory and practice during my studies, it also helped me see with more clarity what I wanted to study during my masters degree. In addition, as I would like to work internationally when I start my career, DSA has helped me understand how business is conducted in Asia, particularly in India and China.

  • Q: Would you recommend working for this company to your friends and classmates?

A: I would and I did. A friend of mine who used to study with me has recently started his internship in the New Delhi office.

  • Q: What aspect of your job do you most enjoyed?

A: I really enjoyed the fact that interns are integrated to the team and treated as equals. It was great working in such a friendly environment and being able to make a real contribution to several projects.
