Responsibility

  • Managing the business advisory service department by following up on client's inquiry, workload allocation and other necessary activities for the orderly operation of the department
  • Participate in legal due diligence and M&A related work
  • Provide FDI related legal advisory services with minimum supervision and handle the incorporation procedure for RO, WFOE, FICE and JV with minimum supervision
  • Research on legal and tax issues/investment regulations, scenarios and alternatives for our existing and potential international clients
  • Implementing legal registrations/investment procedures for our client's portfolio
  • Independently complete or cooperate with colleagues on FIEs setup documents preparation
  • Liaison with government authorities to understand local policy and practice
  • Site visit of government organs to submit documents and collect information
  • Meet independently and/or with a company team with existing and potential clients and advise over legal and tax issues affecting their investment plans for China
  • Follow up on clients' establishment and conversion into tax/accounting retainers with colleagues from the tax/accounting department
  • Provide advice on legal issues of retainer clients
  • Conduct legal due diligence on target companies, draft of legal contracts and documents
  • Writing articles or making presentations on legal/investment and other related matters
  • Internal training
  • Provide content and articles for internal and partners publications
  • Assist in some office administrations if needed


Requirements

  • At least three or four years working experience in Foreign Direct Investment, preferably working experience in international law firm or multi-national company
  • Good knowledge of and experience on set-up procedures for RO, WFOE, FICE and JV
  • Ability to read, interpret, draft, modify and review legal documents
  • Capable to work with minimum supervision
  • Good team worker
  • LLB or LLM
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English and Mandarin
  • Bar qualification is preferred, but not a must
